I’m Becoming Even More Intrigued by THICK LOCS!
(pics from this Facebook page and this blog)
I started off with ≈117 locs and they locked pretty quickly; unfortunately, five months later is too late for me to start a new set without having to put myself through a lot of pain. So I’ve been combining them. The luckier locs were already adjacent to a complementary locs that was thin enough to combine without anything more than a little gel and a rubber band or two. Some of them made a loc too larger to combine without stretching the entire shaft with a clip and helping out through a sewing technique, and a few will just have to be thinner than the others.
So I may not have 70-80 locs (which causes chunkier ones), but then again, I haven’t re-tallied the amount. I may do this in March when my sixth month arrives and the combined locs mesh together. Nevertheless, I’m really excited about the possibilities!
My roommate told me at the beginning of my hair locking process that she thought I would want thick locs similarly sized as one of our mutual friends. I considered it, but I never dwelled too much on the subject. Until now. I am convinced that thick locs would look so much fuller on me. Plus, I figured that since I have a big nose, I may as well have big hair! I mean, that is one of the reasons why I chose to have locs (a trivial reason, but it still was a factor). My roots are thickening little by little from semi-freeforming. I’ve been coaxing my hair growth scalp by introducing a diluted rosemary oil mixture to my scalp, and I also water my hair whenever I can. And through all of this, I’m learning that Patience is a virtue!!! My parts aren’t perfect, but I’m certainly gonna love the results!
gorgeous!! I intend to combine at some point
